Ridgeley, WV- Wayne Franklin Magruder, Jr., 58, of Ridgeley, died Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at UPMC Western Maryland. Born April 29, 1963 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Wayne F. Magruder, Sr. and Barbara (Adams) Algieri. Wayne was a graduate of Frankfort High School. Mr. Magruder was a member of the Cumberland Community Church. He was employed at Archway Station, Inc. as a Human Service Worker, where he worked in direct care for teenage boys. Wayne had previously served as Pastor of churches in Pennsylvania. He had also served as a Hospice Chaplain. Wayne was an avid cyclist. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, and WVU Mountaineer Football. Most of all, he loved his family, especially the time spent with his grandchildren. Survivors include his loving wife, Cheri S. Magruder; children, Zachary Magruder and wife Trish, Brandon Logsdon, and Kristopher Logsdon; grandchildren, Marilyn, Landen, Liam, Kole, and Ryleigh; his sister, Joan Magruder; and a very special niece, Alayna Hartman, who he lovingly referred to as “Lanya.” She affectionately called him, “Uncle Weenie.” He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and his loving fur babies, Max and Maggie. Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A, 202 Greene Street, Cumberland, on Saturday, October 23, from 4-6 PM. PLEASE NOTE: At the request of the family, all persons attending the visitation will be REQUIRED to wear a face covering. Private inurnment will be at a later date in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
