At the age of 93, Roy Joachim Michel, Sr. died at home on October 18, 2021. As a lifelong resident of the New Orleans Metro Area, he is survived by his estranged wife Mary Beth Michel, his three sons, Roy Joachim Michel, Jr., David Francis Michel and Rene’ Thomas Michel and his wife Dianne Haab Michel.  He also survived by his two grandchildren, James Robert Michel and Claire Elizabeth Michel Mumme.  Roy spent most of his career at The Louisiana Coca-Cola Bottling Company serving various roles. He started his career as a messenger carrier and worked his way up to Department Head of Telephone Sales among other management positions.  Working for the same company for over 40 years while raising three boys was extremely rewarding experience for him.  His last 28 years as a grandfather to Claire and James was what defined him as a human being.  Roy often said his grandchildren added decades to his life.  A funeral mass will be held at Jacob Schoen Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St. New Orleans, LA 70119, on Saturday October 23, 2021 at 12:15pm in the J.
