<p>Funeral service for Verdie Mae Wilkes will be at 11:00am, on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marksville. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Mausoleum # 2.</p> <p>Verdie Mae Wilkes, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at the Valley View Nursing Home in Marksville.</p> <p>Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Michael (Gloria) Wilkes of Marksville; sister, Cecelia Friesenhahn of Simmesport; daughter-in-law, Barbara Wilkes of Marksville; grandchildren, Penny Wilkes Poche of Marksville, Tammy Wilkes (Jamesy) Perry of Marksville, and Crystal (Tyler) Wilkes of Marksville; great-grandchildren: Kristian Hardy of Marksville, Nicholas Poche of Marksville, Chloe Perry of Marksville, Gloryana Perry of Marksville, Ocean Merlin of Marksville, and Sailor Merlin of Marksville.</p> <p>She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Blake Wilkes; son, Kenneth Mason Wilkes; parents, Estine Lemoine, Sr. &amp; Susan Guillot Wilkes;&nbsp;brother, Estine Lemoine, Jr.,; sisters, Ruby Wilkes and Gladys Rabalais; and grandchild, Michael Blake Wilkes, Jr.</p> <p>Friends and family are invited to sign the online guestbook at www.escudefuneralhome.com.</p> <p>Visitation will be held at Escude Funeral in Mansura at 10:00am, on Thursday, October 28, 2021.</p> <p>Escude Funeral Home of Mansura have been entrusted with funeral arrangements.</p>
