Gracie Pauline Martin, longtime Checotah resident, entered her heavenly home on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at the age of 87. She was born Wednesday, March 21, 1934 to Jess Eli and Mattie (Corbell) Foreman in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Pauline attended Warner Schools and graduated in 1952. After graduating, she went to work as a waitress. She met and married the love of her life, L.C. Martin in 1952. Pauline and L.C. moved to Pampa, Texas after his military service. They would later move back to Checotah. Pauline went to work at Farmers Union as a secretary. Later, she worked and operated Parisian-Wolfe Cleaners. Pauline loved attending her church, First Assembly of God Church in Warner, where she was a member. She also enjoyed going shopping. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband L.C. Martin, son Darrell Martin, sister Ruby Rogers, brother-in-law Jack Rogers, brother Johnson Foreman. Pauline is lovingly survived by her daughter Sherry Martin of Checotah; grandchildren Scotty Burge and wife Amber of Checotah; Jarrod Madewell of Checotah; great grandchildren Reagan McGee and husband Blake of Muskogee; Alexis Davenport and husband Jon of Carbondale, Kansas; Rylee Burge of Checotah; Peyton Burge of Checotah; Jaxon Burge of Checotah; Sierra Madewell of Checotah; Shayanne Madewell of Checotah; Mason Madewell of Checotah; niece Sharon Wilkett and husband Bobby of Stigler; nephew, Bobby Jack Foreman and wife Regan of Warner; sister-in-law Myrna Lowe of Warner. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a lifetime of friends. Viewing will be 10:00am to 4:00pm, Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Garrett Family Funeral Home Checotah. Service celebrating the life of Pauline, 10:30am, Friday, October 22, 2021 at First Assembly of God, Warner. Committal prayers and interment to follow at Field Cemetery, Porum, under the direction of John Garrett. Jimmy Wilkett, Kevin Wilkett, Michael Apple, Bobby Jack Foreman, Andrae Freeman and Paul McCrary will serve as Casket Bearers. Herman McBride, Jackie Hood and Gerald Parsons will serve as Honorary Casket Bearers.
