Linda L. Thompson Hale

Linda L. Thompson Hale, 79, of Lynchburg peacefully passed on Monday, October 18, 2021 in Johnson City, TN. Born in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Everett W. Thompson and Doris Torrence Thompson. Linda was a 1960 graduate from E.C Glass High School; was employed at Morton Manufacturing Company (ChapStick) as well as an inventory specialist for Powell’s Truck & Equipment. She was a member of Marsh Memorial United Methodist Church. She enjoyed attending local square dancing and country music activities around the area frequently spending Saturday nights at the New London Ruritan Club with close friends. In addition to dancing Linda loved a good bowl of homemade ice cream while watching movies. She is survived by a son, Greg Hale (Lisa) of Bristol, TN; two grandchildren, Max Hale of Punta Gorda, FL and Victoria Hale of Bristol; a brother, Kenneth Thompson (Diana) of Bethesda, MD; her special friend, Jackie Fitzgerald of Lynchburg; and other nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 24, 2021 at New Concord Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 5588 New Chapel Rd, Concord, VA 24538 by Pastor Bill Burleigh. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 9924, McLean, VA 22102.
