It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ronald “Mickey” Leeder at the Brockville General Hospital on Monday October 18, 2021 the age of 88. Mickey will be deeply missed by his wife Bobbie, his sons Stephen (Leslie) and Christopher (Mary Lou), grandchildren Matthew (Alexandra), Scott (Lauren), Andrew and stepson Greg. He will also be missed by his sister Joan (Jack), brother-in-law Roger, sister-in-law Mary and numerous nieces and nephews. Mickey was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth “Betty” (nee Deir), parents Ronald and Sylvia (“Sib”), brother William and sister Faye.

Mickey was born and raised in Brockville and worked at Dupont for 42 years. He was an avid sports enthusiast his whole life and was a die-hard Leafs and Blue Jays fan. He played football and basketball in high school and was a golfer and curler at the Brockville Country Club for over 60 years. He loved to travel, read, play cards especially Bridge, and spend time with family.


The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff who work on the 3rd floor of the Brockville General Hospital Palliative Care Unit for the compassionate and excellent care he received over the last few weeks.


Family and friends are invited to the Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James Street, East, Brockville, on Friday, October 22, from 2-4 pm and 6:30 - 8:30 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am at the Irvine Memorial Chapel at Roselawn, 2451 County Road 15, Maitland, ON with interment to follow. Covid Protocol will be followed requiring all guests to register on line below or by calling our office at 613-342-2828 between 9-4:30 pm.


Donations are directed to the Brockville General Hospital - Palliative Care or the Canadian Cancer Society will be gratefully acknowledged by the family. Leave a condolence, share a memory by clicking on the Memory Wall above.
