<p>Mattie Phyllis Mullis, 75, of Stanfield, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Novant Health Mint Hill Medical Center in Charlotte.</p> <p>Mattie was born January 22, 1946 in Union County to the late William Boyce Rushing and the late Mary Lena Rushing. She was also preceded in death by brother, Maurice &quot; Dob &quot; Rushing and sister, Blake Brantley.</p> <p>The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 11:00 AM -12:45 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home&#39;s of Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM in the Hartsell Funeral Home Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by Stony Benfield. Burial will follow at the Oakboro Cemetery at 1397 North Main Street Oakboro, NC.&nbsp;</p> <p>Mattie was a proud member of the Christian Cooking Convoy of Oakboro and was loved by many family and friends.&nbsp;</p> <p>Survivors include husband, Glenn Edward Mullis; daughters, Cathy Gardner, Tina Millen; step-daughters, Tamara Pickler, Jane Wittman; grandchildren, Brandie Helms, Holly Strickland, Stacey Smith, Jamie Millen, April Millen, Cody Wittman, Ashley Smith and numerous great-grandchildren.&nbsp;</p> <p>Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children&rsquo;s Hospital, P.O.
