Marjorie J. Elmendorf Obituary

Marjorie was born to James & Mary Elmendorf on November 30, 1962 in Poughkeepsie, New York, and the Step-Daughter of Ralph Cline Sr. She attended Poughkeepsie Schools and was a New York State Certified Nursing Assistant. Marjorie worked in the nursing field for over 25 years in Dutchess and Ulster counties. She was last employed providing private duty care and Wingate at Ulster which she was employed by for many years. Marjorie received Several Awards of Recognition for providing outstanding care, support, and compassion to her Patients/Residents. Marjorie was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (Cancer of the Bone) in July 2021 and after a painful but courageous battle, she left us in peace and comfort on October 15, 2021. We are positive that God had a room prepared for her in his Mansion and without question, near her Mom, Granddaughter’s and many other close family members. Marjorie is survived by four children that treasured her, Loving Daughter and Best Friend LaToya Elmendorf, at which they shared a home and whom provided extensive support, care and unconditional love, her sons and their partners Mark (Kathleen), Brandon (Sara), and side kick Reno (Shikeea) whom also provided support, care and love throughout this battle.

Through these unions Marjorie is survived by 13 Grandchildren and 2 Granddaughter’s whom predeceased her. Marjorie is survived by her Sisters, Marie Knapp (Chuck), Kim Elmendorf (Felton), Brothers, James Elmendorf III (Donna), and Ralph Cline Jr. (Joselynn).   Marjorie is survived by many cousins who were raised and loved as Siblings. Nieces, Nephews, Aunts and Uncles that all held a special place in her heart.  Marjorie was a loving, caring, generous, and thoughtful person who will be greatly missed. Though we all loved her very much we know that she would say “I love you more.” Per Marjorie’s request there are no calling hours and cremation has taken place. “Don’t be afraid, Close your eyes, Don’t you cry, Can’t you see I’m going where I can see the Sun Rise, I’ve been talking to my Angel and he says that it’s alright.”   Arrangements have been entrusted to Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home, Inc.  39 So. Hamilton St. Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. (845)452-1840.  To Send online condolences please visit our website at www.darrowfuneralhome.org
