Donald R. Stangeland

Donald R. Stangeland, age 68, of Flandreau, SD, formerly of Brandt, SD, passed away on October 16, 2021 at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD after a brief illness. A Memorial Service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021, at the Houseman Funeral Home in Clear Lake, SD. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Donald “Donnie” was born April 23, 1953, in Gary, SD, the son of Fred Stangeland and Avis “Bonnie” Ruhd. He attended school in Brandt and Clear Lake, SD. He was a grain bin builder most of his adult life and enjoyed working hard and playing harder. Donnie enjoyed hunting, fishing and many road trips. Most at a high rate of speed. He especially loved socializing with his many friends and family. He is survived by his daughter, Shelby (Joe) Keeton; grandchildren: Charlie and Eddie Keeton; brothers: Melvin Stangeland, Darold Stangeland and sisters: Shirly (Bob) Jensen and Pamela Stangeland. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents and infant son Shiloh.
