Marvin D. Wright, 83 year old Woodward resident, passed away Friday, October 15, 2021 in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 22, 2021 at the Free Will Baptist Church with Dr. Allen Mabra officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.<br /><br />Marvin Dean Wright was born on June 17, 1938 in La Junta, Colorado to Jim and Esther (Janzen) Wright. He grew up southwest of Woodward and graduated from Sharon High School. Marvin was inducted into the United States Army in 1958 and served his country until being honorably discharged in 1962. He was united in marriage to Ingrid Junge on July 3, 1962 at his parents home in Woodward, Oklahoma. They made their home in Woodward and have lived there since that time. Marvin went to work for Northwestern Electric and worked as a Lineman and later on as Superintendent for 38 years before his retirement.<br /><br />He was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church. He was also a 50 year member of the Woodward Masonic Lodge. He loved bragging on his family and enjoyed raising cattle, riding his four wheeler, raising a huge garden, any farmwork and riding his tractor. Marvin always enjoyed going to McDonalds to have coffee with his buddies.<br /><br />He is survived by his wife Ingrid Wright of the home; one son, Robert Wright and wife Tamara; one daughter, Patricia Ayers and husband Reggie; six grandchildren, Dawson Wright, Rhiannon Bahena, Dalton Pennypacker, Maison, Matthew, and Mali Ayers; other relatives and many friends.<br /><br />He was preceded in death by his parents.<br /><br />Memorial contributions may be made to the Free Will Baptist Church with the funeral home accepting the contributions.<br /><br />
