Funeral services for Carolyn Cech age 79 of Clarkson, NE will be on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the New Zion Presbyterian Church in Clarkson, NE with Rev. Laura Rasmussen officiating. Interment will be in the Schuyler Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the New Zion Presbyterian Church in Clarkson and will continue on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. Minnick Funeral Chapel in Dodge, NE is assisting the family with the arrangements.. Carolyn passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021 at Butler County Healthcare in David City, NE. Carolyn Ruth Cech was born October 27, 1941 on the family farm south of Clarkson, NE to John and Alfreida (Balzer) Herling. She attended Colfax County Rural School and graduated from Clarkson High School in 1959. Carolyn obtained her teaching degree from Wayne State College. She taught school in Dodge and rural Richland prior to her marriage. On January 3, 1970, Carolyn was united in marriage to Jerome Cech at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, rural Heun, NE. The couple lived and farmed south of Clarkson, NE. Carolyn was a member of the New Zion Presbyterian Church in Clarkson. She loved spending time with her grandchildren playing cards, cooking, baking, sewing, quilting, and canning. Carolyn never met a stranger. Survivors include- Son-Jerome and Pam Cech, III of Clarkson, NE and daughter- Emily Cech Son-Roy and Brenda Cech of Dodge, NE and family- Kayla and Kyle Stauffer Betty Cech and fiance Steven Stirn Brittany Cech Daughter-Dawn and Roger Brabec of Clarkson, NE and family- Jessica and Jared Kreikemeier and Jordan Cassie Brabec Daughter-Laura and Ryan Ruskamp of Dodge, NE and family- Addison Ruskamp Easton Ruskamp Siblings-Lambert and Charlotte Herling of Clarkson, NE Joan Wachal of Schuyler, NE Dennis Herling of Clarkson, NE Bob and Mary Herling of Schuyler, NE Several nieces and nephews also survive her. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents-John and Alfrieda Herling, husband-Jerome Cech on March 5, 2016, brother-John Herling, sister-Betty and Jim Vondruska, 3 infant siblings, brother-in-law-Dennis Wachal, and sister-in-law-Bonnie Herling.
