Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Mark Myers, Jr., 87, who passed away October 17, 2021, at Acadia Extended Care Hospital in Crowley. Msgr. Russell Harrington, pastor of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Mire will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held at 8:30 am to 11:00 am at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 am Tuesday. Interment will be in Estherwood Cemetery. Mark was born November 30, 1933, in Estherwood, LA. He joined the United States Army in 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1955. Mark and his brothers opened Myers Brothers Barber Shop in Crowley. He then went to work for the Acadia Parish Clerk of Court as a deputy clerk and then joined the Acadia Parish Sheriffs Office as a bailiff. Mark and his wife Lou traveled often and one of his favorite past time was playing cards with his family and his Monday night card group. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lou Ella B. Myers of Crowley; three children, Gregory Myers (Karen) of Plaquemine, Myron Myers (Denise) of Lyons Point, and Cheryl Hoffpauir (Scott) of Crowley; special godchild, Shane Gaspard (Myra) of Carencro; one sister, Lucy Matthews of Lafayette; seven grandchildren, Marc Allen Myers (Lark), Gaston Myers (Heather), Alannah Myers (Dex), Blake Myers (Sarah), Lauren Hoffpauir, Tyler Gaspard (Kodie), and Morgan Gaspard; and one great-grandchild, Hunter Paul Myers. Mr. Myers is preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Evellyn Duplechain Myers, Sr.; and three brothers, Carter, Carson, and Lee Myers.
