Darrell Eugene Harmon
Mr. Darrell E. Harmon, age 88, of Bedford, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at his residence. He was born June 25, 1933 in Carrollton, Kentucky, the son of Cecil and Gracie (Mills) Harmon. Mr. Harmon was a high school graduate, a veteran of the United States Army, and retired in 1991 as a supervisor for the General Electric Company following thirty-six years of service. He served as a Bedford City Commissioner from 1994-2015, was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel, and held memberships in Samuel Woodfill Post #9, American Legion, and Moose Lodge #765, both in Madison, Indiana. He was an avid reader enjoyed NASCAR, UK basketball, and golf. He especially enjoyed his family and grandchildren, and keeping up with his friends, especially his coffee drinking buddies at Little Town & Country Restaurant. Mr. Harmon is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Derrell L. and Denise Harmon of Granbury, Texas; three daughters and sons-in-law: Cindy and David Richmond of Bedford, Darlene and Mark Blackford of Crestwood, Kentucky, and Darra and Tim Smith of Bedford; one sister, Rosetta Staples of Bedford; one brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Sandy Harmon of Greenville, Indiana; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, the former Jo Ann Waters, who passed away March 11, 2021, and to whom he was married on October 17, 1953 in Madison, Indiana.June 25, 1933 - October 16, 202106/25/193310/16/2021
