Sondra Joyce Dodd, 75 of Mount Clare passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021, at United Hospital Center. She was born on January 13, 1946 in Clarksburg, daughter of the late Denzil Evans and Nelia Virginia Carson Barnes.

Sondra graduated from Victory High School, Class of 1963.  She worked first job as secretary to the President of a life insurance company in Washington D.C. before working along with her husband with his business while in Virginia as the Office Manager. Sondra retired from Walmart with over fifteen years of service.  She enjoyed sewing, gardening, her flowers and loved spending time with her family; especially the grandchildren.  

Sondra is survived by her husband of fifty eight years, Howard William Dodd whom she married on July 21, 1963; three sons, William “Brian” Dodd and Lorie, Warrenton, VA, Kevin Allen Dodd and Janice, Winchester, VA, Shawn Ellery Dodd and Donna, Haymarket, VA; six grandchildren, Megan Dodd, Alyssa Dodd, Kyle Dodd, twins, William and Joshua Dodd, and Erin Dodd; sisters, Ramona Edith McIntyre, Clarksburg, Carol Ann Martin; numerous nieces and nephews.  

In addition to her parents, Sondra is preceded in death by her siblings, Betty Virginia Barnes, Juanita R Godfrey, Louella “Patty” Winonna Walsh, and Robert Paul Barnes.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive Clarksburg/Nutter Fort, on Thursday, October 21, 2021, from 11:00AM until time of funeral service at 1:00PM with the Pastor Charles Madaus presiding.
