Daryl Aubrey Thatcher

January 24, 1947 – Calgary, Alberta October 10, 2021 - Three Hills, Alberta It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daryl Thatcher, on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at the age of 74 years, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Daryl worked as a grader operator for over 33 years and loved every minute of it. After his retirement he enjoyed golfing and socializing with his friends. Anyone who knew Daryl knew that his laugh and kind spirit was infectious. Along with his loving wife of 53 years, Lynn, Daryl is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Shawna and Kevin; son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Chrissy; grandchildren, Brayden (Tiara), Chaelyn, Dakota and Chase; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Gail; sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Ted; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. God saw you getting tired And a cure was not to be So he put His arms around you And whispered "Come to me." With tearful eyes we watched you As you slowly slipped away And though we loved you dearly We couldn't make you stay. A beautiful heart stopped beating hard working hands at rest God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Daryl’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, c/o Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 - 29 Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 4N2 Telephone: 1 (866) 412-4222. www.albertacancer.ca/memorial.
