Ronald A. Carbaugh

Ronald A. Carbaugh, 76, of Chambersburg, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021 at the Select Specialty Hospital, Camp Hill. Born on November 25, 1944 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late John J. and Minnie L. Bittinger Carbaugh. Ron graduated from Chambersburg Area Senior High School and then served his country with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked for the Chambersburg Area School District for 37 ½ years before retiring as Head Custodian. An avid outdoorsman, he was a member to the Waynesboro Fish & Game Club Association. He was also a member of Zion Reformed Church in Chambersburg and the Joe Stickell Post 15 American Legion in Waynesboro. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Wilma Bowman Carbaugh, whom he married on June 7, 1964; one son, Joseph E. (Dana) Carbaugh; two grandchildren, Skyler and Reagan Carbaugh, all of Chambersburg; siblings Peg Smith, Martin (Edna) Carbaugh, Bruce (Wilma) Carbaugh, all of Chambersburg, Ruth Hough of Waynesboro, and Richard Carbaugh of Chambersburg. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Jean Carbaugh and Sharon Miller. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 22, in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road Chambersburg, with Rev. Thomas J. Dunkle officiating. Interment will follow in Norland Cemetery, where members of the Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard will conduct military graveside honors. Viewing hours will be held at the funeral home from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Reformed Church, 259 S.
