Norma J. Scott

Monmouth – Norma J. Scott, 88, a former resident of Monmouth, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Glenridge Nursing Home in Augusta. She was born on April 7, 1933 in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of Lloyd Beach and Hazel (Robb) Beach. Norma was a graduate of Winthrop High School and then went to beautician school. On March 22, 1952 in Chesterville, Norma and Lawrence M. Scott were married. They enjoyed 36 years together before his passing in 1988. Norma worked as a bookkeeper for her husband’s contracting business. She enjoyed reading, big band music, playing the piano, gardening, she enjoyed traveling and a great love of her faith. Norma belonged to the North Monmouth Community Church where she was very involved in many things having to do with the church. She is survived by her sons, Dale and Kileen Scott of North Monmouth, Darryl and Vicki Scott of Colorado and Matt Scott and companion, Pam Abzan of Wayne; daughter-in-law, Linda Scott of Monmouth, 9 grandchildren, Gary, Jr., Michelle, Lawrence, Daleen, Colton, Taylor, Melissa, Megan and Erik; 8 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence; her parents; a daughter, Juanita Scott; sons, Michael and Gary Scott; and a sister, Sally Nagle.
