Eldora James Keck Obituary

Eldora James Keck, 95, resident of Greenwood, widow of Bert Marion Keck, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021, at NHC of Greenwood. Born December 31, 1925, in Adrian, MO, she was a daughter of the late Roy E. and Esther Rioth James. She was a 1948 graduate of University of Indiana, and married her late husband the same year with whom she was married to for over 69 years until his death in 2018. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church. Eldora was also a member of Hands and Heart Circle, and Merry Mixers Square Dance Club. Surviving are two daughters, Nancy Keck Lumley and Lori Keck Buist (Mike) both of Greenwood; a sister, Carolyn Rapp (Eddie) of Spring, TX; a brother, Alden James (Glenda) of Piggott, AR; three grandchildren, Carolyn Lumley, Amy Buist Maxwell (Lee), and Scott Buist; one great-grandchild, Olsen Maxwell; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, William E. James of Overbrook, KS and George L. James of Baton Rogue, LA; and a son-in-law, John Lumley. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 PM Sunday at Main Street United Methodist Church with Rev. James McCoy-Bruce officiating. Burial to follow at Oakbrook Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon at the church from 2-3. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Main Street United Methodist Church, 211 Main Street N., Greenwood, SC 29646.
