Kenneth Arthur Anderson Obituary

Kenneth Arthur Anderson, 91, of Corunna, passed away at Fenton Healthcare on Thursday, October 14, 2021. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, 302 West Corunna Ave., Corunna, MI 48817. Rev. Norman Beckwith will officiate. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Kenneth was born August 26, 1930, in Elberta, Michigan to Arthur and Mina (Olsen) Anderson. He grew up in Elberta, graduating from Elberta High School. He served his country bravely in the United State Marines. Upon his return to civilian life, he married his sweetheart Rheta Soderquist on January 17, 1954, at the Elberta United Methodist Church. He began working for the Ann Arbor Railroad and remained there until his retirement after 43 years of outstanding service. During his employment he transferred to the Owosso area, and they called Corunna home and raised their family. They became faithful members of Trinity United Methodist Church in Owosso and are still members after 50 years. Kenneth had many hobbies throughout his life; he excelled in sports and was a member of the Marine Corp diving team, he played baseball and could have gone professional, he enjoyed golfing, and hunting but nothing came close to his love of fishing! He was known to enjoy playing cards with friends and dancing on weekends with his lovely wife. Family was very important to Kenneth; his grandchildren melted his heart, and he found one more opportunity to enjoy life as each one made him smile with their unique gifts. Kenneth is survived by his wife of 67 wonderful years; Rheta Anderson, his children; Scott Kenneth Anderson and Steven Earl (Tamra) Anderson, his 8 grandchildren, his 9 great-grandchildren, his 1 great great-grandchild, his siblings; Axel “Skip” Anderson, Richard “Dick” Anderson, and Bonnie Medendorp, many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; Arthur and Mina Anderson and siblings; Max Anderson and Marilyn Holtrey In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
