RITA DELANNE “DEE” (nee Miller) TAYLOR, age 89, of Worthington, died Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at the Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington. She was born April 7, 1932, at Rockwell, Iowa, she was the daughter of Laurence and Elizabeth (Magsamen) Miller. She married William Taylor on September 30, 1950, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Luverne, MN. They were married 68 years until Bill’s death in August of 2018.

Dee grew up in Rockwell, Iowa where she graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School. She worked for Northwestern Bell in Mason City, IA and then, Luverne MN, after marriage. They later moved to a farm near Magnolia, then briefly to a farm west of Adrian and finally to rural Rushmore where they farmed until retirement in 1990. Bill and Dee wintered in Mesa for 20 years.

During her life, Dee was dedicated to her Catholic faith and loved her Church. She was involved as a lector, Eucharistic Minister, taught religious education for 11 years, and started the first vacation Bible school--all as a member of St. Adrian Catholic Church. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, served as President of the ACCW and, with her husband, was a part of the Catholic Church’s Marriage Encounter program.

Dee loved her family and participated in her children’s lives as a 4-H leader. She also nurtured her own love of music through their involvement in piano lessons, band, and choral music. Dee loved knitting, crocheting, playing bridge and pinochle, baking and canning vegetables.

She is survived by her adult children, Tom (Hopkins, MN), Don and spouse Rodrick Fields (Golden Valley, MN), Gary and wife Diane (Seattle, WA) and Mary Beth and husband Merle Kriech (Colman, SD), three grandchildren, Lukas Taylor, Allison Taylor, Taylor Kriech and two step-grandchildren Kierstin (Josh) Lovre and Cole Kriech. She is preceded in death by a brother Ken, sister Mary, her parents, a son, Greg, and three infant children, Dennis Michael, Kathleen Marie, and David James.

Mom-- know that we, your children, will continue to honor you by your teachings of kindness, fairness and most importantly, love for others.
