<p>James T. (Ted) Scott 87 of South Zanesville departed his earthly home to begin his eternal journey with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a lengthy and hard fought battle with cancer on October 13, 2021. Dad was a 65 year resident of the Zanesville/South Zanesville area retiring after a long career from AEP/Central Ohio Coal Company.&nbsp; Dad was the son of the late Levi and Junie Scott of Stockport where dad was born and raised. Dad was member of South Zanesville United Methodist Church and helped to start and worked the food pantry for many years. Dad was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Jean Scott, son Jim (Kim) Scott of Canal Fulton, Ohio, daughters Trudy (Kevin) Gore of South Zanesville, Ohio, Julie (Austin) McMillion of Pickerington, Ohio, 2 sisters, Pauline Moye of Kountze, Tx and Connie Wise of South Zanesville.&nbsp; &nbsp;He is also survived by 3 granddaughters Sarah (Chris) Chadwick of Hudson, Ohio, Ashley (Lance) Hoffman of Columbus, Ohio, Olivia (Marcus) McMillion-Goddard of Shady Spring, WV and great granddaughter Olivia Church, great grandsons Spencer and Nash Goddard.&nbsp; He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Juanita Hook and Thelma Creighton and 2 brothers, Dwight and Kenneth Scott.&nbsp; Services will be held on Monday, Oct. 18, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with burial following in the Stockport Cemetery.&nbsp; Friends may call on the family from 11-1 P.M. on the day of the services.&nbsp; To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.</p>
