General Elder Charles Henry Felton Sr. 1941 - 2021 Rome, NY - Mr. Charles Henry Felton, 80, of Rome NY, Passed away peacefully on Monday October 5, 2021, in Bayonet, FL. Charles Henry Felton Sr. was born February 10, 1941, in Montezuma, Georgia, the son of Henry and Nameless Felton. Charles received the Baptism of Holy Ghost at age 19 and began preaching shortly afterwards. Soon after, the family moved to Utica, NY, where he was a member of the House of God Church on Seneca Street. Charles became a member of the Screaming Eagles Marching Band for 5 years and enlisted in the United State Army in 1963. He was the only survivor in his platoon after the Berlin war. Shortly after, he got married December 11, 1965, to Pearl Elaine Felton. Mrs. Felton passed away in 2017. Charles was an educated man who invested in his ministry. He attended Colgate College, and Moody Institute for Bible Courses. He also graduated from Mohawk Valley Community College specializing in Machines. Charles became the leading inspiration for creating the first Ministers Council for the City of Utica. He gathered several ministers in the community to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. Charles planted his feet in The House of God Church and began to preach the word of God. This entailed 58 Years of Preaching God’s Word, 52 Years of Marriage, 32 Years of Pastoring, 10 years of service as a Presiding Elder, 7 years of service as a General Elder and3 ½ years in Plant City, Florida under the direction of Presiding Prelate Bishop Evans. Mr. Felton’s is survived by his loving 3 kids: Charles Henry, Jr. (and Nikolina) Felton of Maryland, Camille (and Silvester) Davis of Florida, and Christopher Felton of Long Island. Five cherished grandchildren, D’Ania Davis, Nicholas Felton, A’Daiah Davis, Samuel Davis, and Matthew Felton; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Sandra and Howard Neeley, of North Carolina, Hope Rivers of North Utica, NY, and Prinell Rivers of Brooklyn. Mr. Felton has seven surviving siblings; 4 sisters; Elouise Wallace of Georgia, Priscilla and Booker T. Pearson of Georgia, Dorothy Scott of Georgia and Dorothy of Utica: three brothers; Ben Felton of Georgia, Peter Felton of Long Island and Randy Felton of Utica, NY and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Dillard, Rochester, NY. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and God-daughter, Cassie Hill, of Georgia. Charles is predeceased by his parents, Henry Otis, and Nameless Felton of Utica, NY, and a sister, Emma Jean Dillard. Mr. Felton’s Funeral will be held on Saturday October 16th, 2021, at 11:00 am, at The House of God Church, 1304 Genesee Street Utica, NY. Visitation and viewing will be held on Friday from 5:00-7:00 pm at the church. Burial will be in New Forest Cemetery in Utica. Arrangements are entrusted to R.P.
