Emma Frances McCrory

EMMA FRANCES (O’BANNON) MCCRORY, age ninety-two, quietly slipped away and transitioned into eternal rest on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital, surrounded by family. Emma was born on Friday, June 14, 1929, in Columbus, Ohio. She was the daughter of Howard O’Bannon and Anna Mae (Tate) Perry. The second oldest of eleven children, Emma left high school to work and help care for her younger siblings. Emma was a strong woman and loved the Lord. She was baptized at Hebrew Baptist Church at an early age. Emma later joined Tabernacle Baptist Church in 1972, where she worked tirelessly on the Senior Usher Board for forty-nine years. In 1949, Emma was united in marriage to James Louis McCrory, Sr. To this union, four children were born. Her life’s action was geared toward serving the Lord and making her family’s life better. She was truly a virtuous woman and inspired many people to become the best that they could be, for she never judged anyone. Emma retired, as a food service supervisor, from The Ohio State University, with thirty-three years of dedicated service. In her leisure, she enjoyed spending time with family, working seek and find puzzles, and playing the numbers. Emma F. Aunt Emma will truly be missed. We all knew that our sister was in great hands with Auntie on the usher board at Tabernacle. She was a great wealth of knowledge and wisdom imparted everyone who knew her. Praying for our family.
