Anita M. Duerr

Carroll Plantation – Anita Marie Duerr, 73, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021 in Bangor after battling Covid 19. Anita was born March 23, 1948 in Lincoln, the daughter of Voigt and Clifford Osgood of Carroll Plantation. In addition to her parents, Anita was predeceased by her husband Ed Duerr, her brother Forest “Pete” Osgood, and a sister, Norma McAfee. Anita was a beloved pillar of the community who wore many hats from Fire Warden to First Assessor for Carroll Plantation. She was very involved with the Lee Academy Alumni Association and the Quad County Snowmobile Club. She taught skiing and swimming to many children throughout the years. Anita managed the fabric and craft department at WalMart for 17 years. She was an avid crafter and loved doing craft shows. Anita was an accomplished quilter, knitter, crocheter, and gifted many of her beautiful creations to friends and family over the years. She is survived by two sons, Randy Toby and his wife Crystal; Kendall Toby and his wife Lizabeth; five grandchildren, Alexander Toby and fiance Tyra Howes, Vicky Toby, Savannah Rockwell and husband Lenny, Voigt Toby and Anna Toby; one great grandchild, Walton Rockwell; a step grandson, Keith Lam and his wife Katelyn and their son Levi; her beloved sister, Jan Hewes and husband Arthur; two step daughters, Vickie Lafrance and husband Tom and Barbara Compagna and husband Joe, and their children and grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless dear friends. Anita will also be missed by her life long friends Ellie, Hazel, and Linda.. At her request, there will be no funeral services. There will be a Celebration of Anita’s Life at a later date to be announced. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks for the many kind thoughts and prayers offered for Anita and the family. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, Lincoln.
