<p>James Howard, 84, of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 1:03 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2021, in his home. James was born on April 15, 1937 in Knox, Indiana to Kern W. and Easter (Bailey) Howard. He had been employed as a Union Painter. James is survived by many friends and loved ones who considered him family. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 16, 2021 in the Lydick United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, where members of the United State Army will conduct Military Rites. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the church. James was an Army Veteran of the Korean war. He loved to work and help others. James was a true handyman and many relied on him. Memorial Contributions may be directed to the Center for the Homeless.
