Donna Belle Bamberger Obituary

Donna Bamberger, nee Donna Belle Beem, born April 5, 1928, in Canal Fulton, Ohio, to Ray and Ruby Beem; raised in Navarre, Ohio, with sisters, Margaret Louise, Virginia Alice and Elsie Jean, and brother, David Ray Beem, passed away February27, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas.

Donna married J. David Bamberger, April 11, 1947. They had three children, David Keith, born in Stark County, Ohio, Deena Ray and Douglas Jarrell, born in San Antonio, Texas. Donna, J.  David and David Keith moved to Oklahoma City in 1950 and from there to Tyler, Texas, before settling in San Antonio in 1953, where J David opened a Kirby Distributorship. Deena Ray was born in 1953 and Douglas Jarrell in 1956. Donna was active in Woodlawn Methodist Church for many years. She was a Brownie Leader and then a Girl Scout Leader for five years. She volunteered as a Bluebird at Methodist Hospital from the time volunteers first  went on duty there, on and off, the rest of her life. She made an active and productive life for herself with her family, her friends, her volunteer work, and her passion for collecting representational art after her marriage ended. She involved herself with mentoring in Colonies North Elementary School, and she was a Rocker at Northside School District where volunteers tended the tiny babies so young mothers would continue their education.

Donna was loving, gentle and generous. Her mission in life was to step up, step in and help. She never let anyone down and taught her family valuable lessons by her example. The greatest impact on her life was the two years she attended Bible Study Fellowship. Her understanding grew and her faith was strengthened, and she carried these lessons with her throughout her life. She claimed the verse, Joshua1:9, as her own and often avowed, “God has always held me in the palm of his hand.” She passed away with family by her side and complete trust in God. She is survived by her three children, eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Cremation  has taken place in accordance with Donna's wishes, and a celebration of her life was held in San Antonio to coincide with what would have been her 93rd birthday, April 5, 2021.  She is returning to Navarre to rest with her parents.  Friends are warmly invited to join her family at a graveside service and committal to mark the occasion on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., in Union Lawn Cemetery.  Local arrangements have been entrusted to Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Navarre.  Your memories and condolences are always welcome and may be added to our on-line guestbook at www.atkinsonfeucht.com.
