<p>Barbara Jeane Duwel, 81, of Vinita, passed away at her home on October 11, 2021, with her family at her side. She was born October 18,1939, in Vinita, to Mark Anthony Dorsey and Viola May (Allensworth) Dorsey. She attended Sacred Heart Academy in Vinita and has been a lifelong member of St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church, in Langley. She was a member of the Altar Society and was awarded the Woman of Achievement Award in 2009. On September 3, 1956, she married the love of her life, Gus Duane Duwel, in Langley. A marriage that would last 65 years. She worked in management at Safeway in Pryor for 14 years.</p> <p>Barbara enjoyed raising dogs and caring for animals. She enjoyed all sorts of crafting and loved her flower gardens and her koi pond. She was a Den Mother for the cub scouts with her sons and enjoyed riding horses and was a member of the Cleora Round Up Club. Barbara was an avid reader and enjoyed working crossword puzzles. She had a funny and sometimes silly sense of humor. She enjoyed many kinds of dancing, including square dancing, swing dancing, and line dances. She loved playing the piano at Christmas gatherings; her family will treasure those memories for years to come. Above all Barbara loved her family. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and all her family had a special place in her heart, and she loved every moment she was able to spend with them. She will be missed by all who knew her.</p> <p>Preceding Barbara Duwel in death are her parents Mark and May Dorsey, a sister, Elizabeth Ann Dorsey, and a great grandchild, Lyrick Mathis.</p> <p>Survivors include her husband, Gus Duwel; children Meri Creech and husband Roger, of Grand Lake Town, Tony Duwel, of Ketchum, Ann Tilmon, of Nowata, Steve Duwel and wife Lisa, of Choteau, Doug Duwel, of Ketchum; 10 grandchildren, Billy Creech, Charissa Gibson, Dorsey Creech, Matt Maolone Landon Gibson, Cody Gibson, Misti Duwel, Mallory Connors, Amber Duwel, &nbsp;Kassey; 20 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Lucy Duwel; many other relatives and a host of friends.</p> <p>A Rosary for Barbara Duwel will be held Monday October 18th, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. at the Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home. Funeral Mass for Barbara will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday October 19th, 2021, at the St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church in Langley, Oklahoma. Barbara Jeane Duwel, 81, of Vinita, passed away at her home on October 11, 2021, with her family at her side. Funeral Mass for Barbara will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday October 19th, 2021, at the St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church in Langley, Oklahoma.
