James Theodore Price was born on July 31st, 1945 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Gladys Irene Pearl (Lutz) and James Forrest Price. He passed away on Tuesday, October 12th, 2021 in his home at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 76 years, 2 months and 12 days. James, known by many as J.T., grew up in the Durham and Crawford, Oklahoma area. He spent the majority of his years in school at Crawford. After leaving school he worked on his family farm and also in Elk City at the Washeteria. He was married to Sherlene Jencks on June 5, 1964 and they made their home in Crawford, Oklahoma and then to Elk City where they raised their family. He was later married to Karen Sue (Greene) in Sayre, Oklahoma. They made their home in Sayre while J.T. began his 10 year career in the oil field and seismographing. After a motorcycle accident on the way back from a rig, he began his career in carpentry. J.T. was a part of remodeling and building numerous houses in and around the Sayre area and also did some commercial construction. He enjoyed fishing, antique shopping and selling, monarch butterflies and spending time with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Nelda Yow. J.T. is survived by his wife, Karen, of the home; 2 children, Ronnie James Price and wife, Opal, Sapulpa, OK and Kara Lynn Throckmorton and husband, John, Sayre, OK; 5 grandchildren, Kelby Price, Jerod Price, Brooklin Throckmorton, Jonathan Throckmorton and Joslin Throckmorton and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 16th, 2021 at The Parlor in Sayre at 2:00 PM.
