On Friday, October 1, 2021, James “Jimmy” Leggins, entered Eternal Rest at age 50. Jimmy was born in New Orleans, LA on March 5, 1971. He attended Sylvanie F. Williams Elementary School, Beaugaurd Middle School, and Warren Easton High School, and later on Job Corps. Jimmy loved playing basketball and spent countless hours playing at the park in Mid-City, where he was raised. He worked various jobs, but his passion was driving and being in the hospitality industry. Truly to know him was to love him! He was a very gentle guy, and he had a great soul. He was a kind and respectful man. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Alton Eaglin, Joyce Eaglin, Edward Lee Leggins, his mother, Joyce Maria Leggins, his sister, Kiata Leggins. He is survived by his father James (Edith) Leggins, Sr., and grandmother Alberth Johnson. Jimmy leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Dianna and his daughters Jaliyah and Jai’lyn Leggins. He was the beloved brother of Kendall Leggins (Rhinae), Kristen Jackson (Lester)and stepbrother Keith Smith. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends to cherish his memories. He will be missed. Relatives and friends of the family are all invited to attend his Services on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Professional Funeral Services located at 1449 N. Claiborne Ave, NOLA 70116. Visitation will begin at 9AM and Services at 10AM.
