Doris Ileen Spears, 94, of Flatwoods, passed away October 12, 2021 at King’s Daughters Medical Center.

Ms. Spears was born August 8, 1927, in Greenup to the late William and Edith Montgomery Sizemore.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, John Spears; two sons, Michael and John Spears; one grandson, Stephen Keith Spears; and six brothers and sisters, Kelly Sizemore, Curtis Sizemore, Frank Sizemore, Ina Weaver, Thelma Clay and Faye Ridgeway.

Doris loved growing flowers around her home, bowling and watching her favorite TV shows. She also enjoyed playing hand-bells in church when she was able to attend.

She is survived by three sons, Steve (Judy) Spears, Jerry (Lisa) Spears and Bill (Tammy) Spears; four grandchildren, John Spears, Joseph Spears, Matthew Spears and Sherry Spears; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Janet Campbell, Grace Howard and Geneva Burton.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 15, 2021 at Carman Funeral Home.

Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
