David R. Young

David Young of Saginaw, MI Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away on October 12, 2021, surrounded by his family at his home. Age 80 years. The son of the late Ralston and Lola (Pennington) Young was born October 29, 1940 in Saginaw. He proudly served in the US Army from 1958 to 1961. David married Joyce Gaiser on June 6, 1964; she survives him. He worked for several years at General Motors retiring in 1993. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing darts, going to the casino, feeding hummingbirds and squirrels, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Joyce Young; three children, Debra L. (Young) Baumgartner, Mark D. (Julie) Young, and Jeffrey S. (Bridget) Young; seven grandchildren, Trisha L. Baumgartner, Emily R. (Steven) Spannagel, Allison J. Young, Sara A. Young, Joseph D. Young, Ashley S. Young, and Jacob D. Young; a sister, Carol (Ron) Wiles Sr., special friends David and Mike Weigold, Mary and Dan Reeves, and Jennifer Spruce. He is predeceased by a sister, Patricia Dorr and two brothers, Jim and Donald Young. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Holly Willett from Grace Hospice for the wonderful care provided to David. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, October 18, 2021, at W. L. Case & Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw. Rev. Rob Schmidt will officiate. Honoring David's wishes cremation will take place after services. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 3:00 pm until the time of the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of Freeland.
