<p>Mr. George Wilbur Costello, 90, of Griffin, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Eternal Hope Hospice.</p> <p>He was born August 3, 1931, in Columbus, to the late Ernest M. Costello and the late Lydia J. Costello. George made his living as a sheet metal worker for the Local 85 for over 50 years. He enjoyed coaching little league baseball, wood working, repairing law mowers and hunting and fishing. Above all he loved spending time with his family. George had huge heart and a genuine love for all people. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mary Ann Costello; and 7 siblings.</p> <p>Survivors include his daughter, Maria &ldquo;Missy&rdquo;&nbsp;Myers; son, Anthony Wayne Costello, Sr.;&nbsp;&nbsp;grandson, Anthony Wayne Costello, Jr. (Ansley); great-grandchildren; Bella Grace Costello and Sophia Elizabeth Costello; &ldquo;baby&rdquo; sister, Carol Costello King (J. B.); &ldquo;baby&rdquo; brother, John Wayne Costello; and many nieces and nephews who he loved like his own children.</p> <p>A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Hillcrest Chapel with Chaplain Winfred Dixon officiating.
