It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Cynthia Marie McLean of Miramichi at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on October 9, 2021, at the age of 65.

Born in Atikokan, Ontario on August 19, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Leland and Angeline (Casey) McLean. She worked in office administration at Repap/UPM for over 28 years.

She is survived by her lifelong partner, Gerard Regan of Barnaby; five sisters:  Joan (John), of Miramichi, Susan (Colin), of Guelph, Mary and Cathy, both of Barnaby, Peggy of Ottawa; one uncle, Fred McLean of Thunder Bay; seven nieces and nephews:  Jennifer (Joey), Vanessa (Bryce), Nicholas, Matthew, Anthony, Kelly, Brett; and seven great-nieces and nephews: Ava, Maddox, Mya, Charlotte, Jackson, Bria, Dax; and numerous cousins.

She is predeceased by her parents, and her brother, Martin who passed away later on October 9, 2021.

The Family would like to take this opportunity to extend special thanks to Dr. Gerard Losier for his kindness and care of Cynthia.  Also, special thanks to the amazing staff on 2 West as they took such wonderful care of our Sister.  We cannot thank you all enough.

A private service and burial were held at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Barnaby River on Thursday, October 14th, 2021, with Father Anthony Dass-Papu and Father Dan Bastarache as Celebrants.  Music for the service was provided by Jackie Allain and the hymns were:  "Blessed", "The Lord is my Shepherd", "Take Me Home", "In God's House" and "On Eagle's Wings".  The scripture readings were read by Faye MacDonald-Mountain and Melanie Casey-Flanagan. Prayers of the Faithful were offered by Melanie Casey-Flanagan.  The eulogy was presented by Anthony McLean and Brett Irlam.  Interment was held in the Most Pure Heart of Mary Cemetery

Due to government regulations, mandatory masking, proof of FULL vaccination, and government-issued ID are required upon entry to the funeral. 

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Dr. Gerard and Judy Losier Family Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. The family asks that donations be made in lieu of flowers.
