Margaret "Pearl" Jackson High River, Alberta Obituary

Margaret "Pearl" Jackson

It is with profound sadness to announce the passing of Pearl Jackson. She passed away peacefully on Friday, October 8th, 2021 in High River, at the age of 89. She will be missed by her surviving daughters: Dorothy Davidson, Heather Greenbank (Don) and Karen Chessor (Greig); as well as her 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Pearl is survived by her siblings: Bobbie, George, Ruby, Gladys, Audrey, John and Dorothy, but was preceded in death by her brother Harold. And, of course, her beloved niece Barb Perrot and family. Born in Benroe, Ireland, Pearl made the long journey to Canada at the age of 18 to start a new life. It was one night at the Meadowbank Community Hall dance where she met her true love and soul mate Glen Jackson, and later married in 1951. They owned a farm a few miles south of High River for over 30 years. She loved the area and stayed in the community for the remainder of her life. She was loved dearly by all, and those who knew her well will miss her big heart, gentle, quiet spirit, and witty sense of humour. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Rehak and to all the hospital staff in unit 300 of the High River Hospital. She will be laid to rest in the Highwood Cemetery in High River on Tuesday, October 19th, at 2:00 pm, next to her beloved husband, Glen, where they can now be reunited and together again. Arrangements in care of Snodgrass Funeral Homes, High River 403-652-2222.
