Herbert Lloyd Swisher
Herbert Lloyd Swisher, 86 years old, of Green Castle, Missouri, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021 at Putnam County Hospital in Unionville, Missouri. Herbert was born July 5, 1935 in Green Castle to Charles and Clarice (Anderson) Swisher. He married Carleen (Jerome) Swisher on November 12, 1984, she preceded him in death in 2010. Herbert was also preceded in death by: His parents; brothers, Carroll Swisher, William Swisher, and Roscoe Swisher; a sister, Frances Claybrook; and nephews, Garry Claybrook and George Swisher. Herbert was survived by four nieces, Mary Ann Farmer and husband Jim of Kirksville, Missouri, Delores Roe and husband Keith of Kansas City, Missouri, Debbie Manuel and husband Ron of Monmouth, Illinois, and Marcia McKim and husband Alan of Green Castle; a nephew, Edward Claybrook of Green Castle; numerous great nieces and nephews; and two sister-in-laws, Anna Belle Swisher of Florida and Eloise Swisher of Roseville, Illinois. Herbert grew up in the Green Castle area, graduating from Adair Co. R-I High School in Novinger. He farmed and later worked at the Novinger locker until they closed, then started driving a school bus for the Adair Co. R-I School. Herbert was a member of the Green Castle Lions Club and he enjoyed going hunting. A graveside service for Herbert will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 16, 2021 at the Green Castle Cemetery. Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Green City is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Green Castle Cemetery.July 5, 1935 - October 11, 202107/05/193510/11/2021
