PALM COAST, FL - Joana M. Corte-Real Faustino, 71, of Palm Coast, FL, formerly of Dartmouth, died peacefully, Saturday, October 9, 2021 with her son by her side following a valiant battle with declining health.
She was the widow of José Manuel Faustino and daughter of the late Miguel Figueiredo and Altina Franco Corte-Real.
Born in Santa Maria, Azores, Joana spent time living in New York, Dartmouth, Portugal and Belgium where her son was born.
Joana was a devoted Catholic and dedicated herself to living according to the Word of God. She will be fondly remembered as the matriarch of the family, a friend to all, and as a woman who took enormous pride in her family, especially her son and grandsons. Her family includes her son, Miguel A. Faustino and his wife, Sarah of Westwood, MA; her brothers and sisters, the late Luis Corte-Real, Michael Corte-Real, Duarte Corte-Real, Vasco Corte-Real, Filomena Matos, Maria Pia Knoedler and Tina Travassos; 2 grandsons, Joseph Baker Faustino and Harrison David Faustino; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, Godchildren and many friends.
Visiting hours in the funeral home Friday, October 15, 2021 from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Her funeral will be conducted on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 8:00 A.M. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated in Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. John Cemetery.
