CW2, Bobby “Chief” Richardson, 74, of Lowell, entered Heaven’s gate on October 11, 2021. He was born December 29, 1946, in Mecklenburg County to the late James Claude, Jr. and Margaret Catherine Dula Richardson. 

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Richardson; brother, Joe Richardson; sisters, Faye Richardson and Kaye Fowler. 

 

Bob was a charter member of God Can Baptist Church, Bessemer City, NC. He retired from the US Army after 20 years, where he was CW2, “Chief.” He retired from USPS after 25 years as supervisor, as well. In Bob’s spare time, he loved fishing, working in the yard with his beloved wife, taking the grandkids on vacations, and spending time with both his family and church family.  

 

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 57 years, Fos Richardson; daughter, Sandy Garrison; granddaughters, Jalee and Sydney Garrison; brother, Pastor Randy Richardson and wife Joyce; chosen daughter Adrienne Carpenter and husband US Army Comrade Josh Carpenter; chosen grandson Easton Beck Carpenter. 

 

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at God Can Baptist Church, Bessemer City, on Friday, October 15, 2021. 

 

Bob’s funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Friday, October 15, 2021, at God Can Baptist Church, Bessemer City, with Pastor Randy Richardson officiating. 

 

Interment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery with military honors.
