Lawanda Ralston

Lawanda Owens Ralston, 81, of Calhoun passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2021, at her residence following a brief illness.

Lawanda was born in Gordon County, Georgia on August 10, 1940, the daughter of the late Travis and Monteen Garren Owens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Travene Strickland, and a brother, Garry Owens.

She was a graduate of Calhoun High School and prior to her retirement she was employed by Georgia Tufter’s Corporation for more than 40 years and was a member of Belmont Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Edwin Michael Ralston and special friend, Janice Keener, Travis Stephen Ralston and his wife Laura Chadwick Ralston; granddaughter, Danielle Carleen Ralston; brother-in-law, Jerry Strickland; sister-in-law, Brenda Cina; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services for Lawanda Owens Ralston will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot at Chandler Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 14th from 10:00 am until the funeral hour of 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
