Ellen E. Read
Ellen E. Read, 69, passed peacefully October 3, 2021 at her home in Oracle, AZ, surrounded by family. Elli was born May 7, 1952 in Denver to Gene and June Youngblut. Elli is survived by two children, Halley (Laura LeMasters) Read of Portland and Hannah (Aymen) Duckett of Phoenix; partner in life Robert St. Pierre of Oracle; stepson Cody (Adrianna) St. Pierre of Phoenix and three grandchildren, Parker LeMasters, Gavin St. Pierre and Scarlet St. Pierre. Elli graduated from Wheatridge High School in 1970 and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Art History from Colorado College. She moved to Oracle in 1976 to continue pursuing her love of art and learning, where she found a permanent home and expanded her chosen family. Elli was a dedicated mother, loving partner, fierce social justice warrior, and stalwart friend. She walked through life with grace and dignity, holding space for and willing to help others always. Elli was a life-long learner who was passionately dedicated to helping others pursue knowledge as a teacher. A creative person, Elli loved to design and make jewelry and drew inspiration from all things mother nature and the natural world. In recent years she shared her passion for gardening with the community she loved through volunteering at the Oracle Community Garden. A celebration of life will occur on November 13, 2021 at 11 AM at The C.O.D Ranch in Oracle, AZ.May 7, 1952 - October 3, 202105/07/195210/03/2021
