Jimmy Ray Sailors, 76, of Lawndale, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021 at Testa Hospice House, Kings Mountain .

Born in Catawba County on March 28, 1945, he was the son of the late Fred Ray Sailors and Alta Viola Cook Sailors. He was retired from Century Furniture and Ethan Allen and was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Setzer and one granddaughter, Cassie Jana Sailors.

He was a very generous, giving family oriented man. He always put everyone else first. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were his pride and joy. He was secure in his faith.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Kay Houser Sailors; one son, Michael Sailors of Lawndale; two sisters, Kay Bingham and husband Henry of Fallston and Diann Hedrick and husband Jim of Vale; one granddaughter, Johnsie Orwig and husband Chris of Lawndale and two great grandchildren, Janalyn Orwig and Jessa Orwig and one great grandchild on the way.
