<p>Evalyne I Clark</p> <p> - 06/23/2020</p> <p> </p> <p>Evalyne I. Clark of Glen Ellyn, IL, formerly of Fulda, MN, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2020, the day after celebrating her 100<sup>th</sup> birthday. Evalyne was born on June 22, 1920 to Albert and Erna (Griep) Petzel, in Balsam Lake, WI. The eldest of 5 children, she grew up on a farm near St. Croix Falls, WI.</p> <p>Evalyne graduated from St. Croix Falls High School, and shortly after moved to Berkeley, CA where she worked during WWII. Later she returned to the Midwest, and along with her first husband, Frank Castonia, whom she married in 1944, purchased and managed the Marshall-Wells Hardware Store in Fulda, MN. After the hardware store was sold, she began working as Deputy Recorder of Murray County, in Slayton, MN and did so for30 years. In 1965 she married Robert Clark of Fulda. For many years after her retirement, Evalyne enjoyed spending winters in Sun City, AZ, where she made lasting friendships.</p> <p>Evalyne was an avid gardener, often took on the position of treasurer for various church groups and organizations and enjoyed travel, with the goal of visiting all 50 states. She loved keeping in contact with family and friends, enjoyed genealogy, recording family history and preserving photos.</p> <p>Evalyne is survived by her daughter Gaylene (David) Nass, step-daughter Marilyn Mortenson, grandchildren Amy (Tony) Clavio, Laura (Jason) Semprini, step-grandchildren David (Mary) Malenke, Teresa (Patrick) Brannigan, Susan (Steven) Nelson, Paul (Michelle) Malenke and 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings Marcella (Ivan) Frokjer, Elroy (Arlys) Petzel, Donald (Marlene) Petzel, and numerous nieces and nephews. </p> <p>She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Maynard (Mildred) Petzel, former husband Frances J. Castonia, husband Robert L. Clark and son-in-law David T. Nass.</p> <p><strong>A private memorial service celebrating Evalyne’s life with be held in August. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 545 S.
