<p>Eugene J. “Sy” Sekowski</p> <p> - 03/22/2017</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Eugene J. (Sy) Sekowski born June 25, 1928, he is 88 years young.&nbsp; A 60 year resident of Villa Park. Loving husband of 65 years to Theresa nee Langen. Beloved father of, Eugene, Margaret, Diane (Joseph) Pisowicz, Barbara (Robert) Keltner, Katrina (Frederick) Krischon, Matthew, Helen (Howard) Keltner, Gregory (Virginia Weibler), Norma (John) Marttinen, and Julia. Cherished Papa of 17 and Great Papa of 15. Eugene is preceded in death by his parents, August A. and Helen M. (Kuntz), his brothers Norbert (Theresa), Thomas (Mitzie), his beloved sister Julie (Clifford) Ratliff, and his granddaughter, Sara Keltner</p> <p><strong>Visitation Friday 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Steuerle Funeral Home 350 S. Mass 10:00 a.m. Interment private. for info. 1-630-832-4161</strong></p> <p>Born and raised in Chicago, Eugene married in August of 1951, and moved to Villa Park in 1959. Early in his adult life, Eugene worked as a tool designer for Acme Tool until he followed his dream and became a private instrumental music teacher, and all around devoted musician. He spent 27 years as the organist and choir director at St. John the Apostle Catholic church in Villa Park. &nbsp;He had a love of gardening and anything involving being in the yard.&nbsp; For many years he could be seen all around the area riding his treasured bicycle.&nbsp; Our family will always remember him for his sense of humor, his corny jokes and his love of languages and of learning new things.
