John Dolchok

John Dolchok Jr July 21, 1942 - October 4, 2021 John Dolchok Jr “Indian John”, “Hap”, “Johnny” 79, was suddenly and unexpectedly taken from us on October 4, 2021, due to a ruptured brain aneurysm. John was born July 21, 1942, in Kenai, Alaska to John Dolchok Sr and Eva Sunrise. When he was 5-6 years old his parents died and he went to a boy's home in Palmer Alaska, where he lived and went to school. On October 30, 1970, he married Sharron Anne Charon, and they made their home and raised their two children Jordana and Shane in Alaska. John was a natural mechanic and could fix anything with an engine. He took multiple types of training to hone his mechanical skills. He loved to spend time working on high-performance race cars and watching them perform at the track. He worked in many different places and had multiple skills that made him a “jack of all trades”. He always had a smile and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He worked, lived, and loved fully and fiercely. He would help anyone in whatever capacity he was able to. He is dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eva, and two brothers Andrew and Archie. He is survived by his ex-wife Sharron, his children Jordana Acker, Shane Dolchok, his granddaughter Shanara Harris, and great-grandson David Eli Harris. A plaque will be displayed on the memorial wall at the Palmer Pioneer Cemetery. A celebration of John’s life will be held at the Caboose Lounge October 22, 2021, from 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM. In place of flowers, the family has set up donation jars at the Valley Hotel and Caboose Lounge.
