Eleanor Annette Mathews Obituary

Eleanor Annette Mathews was born May 28, 1942 to Clara Mozelle Jones and Prelo “Bill” Maddox. She spent her early years living with her Mama and Granddaddy Jones along with her cousin Buddy. She graduated from Andalusia High School in 1960. She married Jerry Mathews in 1963 and became a Navy wife. She made each new move an adventure and each new house a home. Annette worked with Civil Service for 30 years in many positions, starting over at each new duty station. She retired from Civil Service at Eglin Air Force Base in 2002.

Annette is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jerry. Daughters Renee (Darren) and Karen (Toby). Grandchildren Britt (Savannah), Ashleigh, Leslie (Chris), Abby (James), Kim(David), Tony(Emilee), and Zach (Mandy) Great-grandchildren Taylor, Alexis, Addison, Maddox, Chrislyn Emma, Blake, Harley, Merabella, Emma, Caroline, Sloan, Logan, Preston, Parker Landis, Braxton, and Turner. Sister Jeanette (Ken) Brothers PeeWee (Vickie) and David (Leslie) Nieces and nephews Health (Julie) Gina (Risa) Chris (Ashleigh) Chris, Tashia, Brittany and Jordan. Brother-in-law Sket (Charlene). Sister-in-law Sandra. Nieces/nephews Rick, Suzanne (Tony) Jessica, Jesse and Tim.

She is preceded in death by her mother Mozelle, father Bill and brothers Kyle and Ronnie.

Annette always held tight to her faith. She is absent from her body and at home with the Lord

We want to thank Dr. Wyndal Blankenship for over 20 years of excellent care, Dr. Nicholas Steckler, Kindred at Home and Emerald Coast Hospice.

Services will be at Heritage Gardens in Niceville on Friday, October 15 at 2 o’clock pm. Visitation will begin at 1.
