Charles R. "Charlie" Browning Obituary

   Charles R. “Charlie” Browning, 72, of Bainbridge, died 12:34 a.m. Monday, October 11, 2021 at his residence following a brief illness.

   He was born May 22, 1949 in Pickaway County to the late Woodrow and Marguerite (Cottrill) Browning. On April 17, 1982 he married the former M. Lorain Harrell, who survives.

   Also surviving are sons, Todd Browning, of North Carolina, Roger (Kim) Dixon, of Bainbridge, Benjamin Browning, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Rachel (Paul) Mergo, Ashley(Brandon) Bost, Daniel Belcher, Jr., Ryan Dixon, Hannah Browning, Jacob Browning; great grandchildren, Laiyla Bost, Charlie and Luke Mergo; a brother, Randy (Debbie) Browning, of Kingston; sisters, Clara (Miles) Treece, of Columbus, Nancy Gayness, of Kingston; many special family members and friends, including Kitty, Marilyn, Joyce, Sherry, Lige, and Mikie whom he cherished; and his 2 cats Itsy and Bitsy. He was predeceased by sisters, Ellen and Irene; and brothers, Frank, Jim, Abe, Harold, and Doug.

   Charlie was a graduate of Zane Trace High School. He retired as a superintendent of Hi-Way Paving Inc., of Hilliard after 47 years of service and was a 50-year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #18. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren, tractors, gardening, and chickens.

   Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 15, 2021 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Shane Browning officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
