Opalene Hocker

Mary Opalene Romans Hocker, age 94 of Morgantown, KY passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021 at her residence. Opalene was born on Thursday, August 4, 1927 in Sunny Lane Butler County, KY to the late Ralph Roark & Iva Clay Thompson Romans. She is preceded in death by her husband of 33 years Adra Cherry (AC) Hocker; three brothers George Mason Romans, Joseph Benjamin Romans and Willie Stanley Romans. Opalene was a member of Morgantown Church of Christ. She was the previous co-owner of Hocker Family Insurance and an insurance agent for 65 years. Opalene enjoyed sewing, cooking, traveling, eating out, dancing, fellowship with her church family, Facebooking and spending time with friends at the Farm Boy restaurant. Her passion was her family and she spent her life serving them. Mary Opalene Romans Hocker is survived by one daughter, Gina Hocker Tynes (Randy) of Morgantown, KY; one son David L. Hocker (Sally) of Morgantown, KY; special niece Phyllis Romans Hunt (Bobby) of Bowling Green, KY. She was known as Gran O to her six grandchildren Adra Hocker Skaggs (Jason) of Morgantown, KY, Edwin Andrew David Hocker (Jennifer) of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Kathryn Hocker Britt (Eric) of Smiths Grove, KY, Clay Russell Tynes (Andrea) of Homewood, Alabama, Kelby Tynes Leedle (Jordan) of Franklin, TN and Randall Cole Tynes of Nashville, TN; three bonus grandchildren Kelly Hill (Jason) of Lanesville, IN, Kasey Hussung-Krininger (Michael) of Lanesville, IN and Evan Hussung (Melanie) of Georgetown, IN; seven great grandchildren and six bonus great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 1:00pm with Bro. Roger Worley and Bro. Joel Guyer officiating. Burial will be in the Hill Haven Memorial Garden where Andy Hocker, Clay Tynes, Cole Tynes, Jason Skaggs, Eric Britt, Jordan Leedle, Russell Givens and Cory Givens will serve as pallbearers, honorary pallbearers Steve Romans, Chuck Romans, Ralph Romans, Bobby Hunt, Hugh Hocker, Jim Howard, Ike Harris, Wayne Jones and Evan Hussung. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm and Thursday 8:00am until funeral time at 1:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
