Patricia B. Kennard

Patricia Beatrix (Baynard) Kennard, affectionately known as Trisha was born October 31, 1968 to the union of Patterson and Jean Baynard in Wilmington, DE. She transitioned this life on October 9, 2021 in Rowan Medical Center. On August 19, 1995 she was married to James Kennard Jr. From this union 3 children were born, James, Jaymier and Jayquan. Trisha was raised in New Castle, DE and received her early education at William Penn High School. She left school in 10th grade to care for her ailing mother, but later returned to school and earned her GED. She also went on to attend Dawn Career Institute where she obtained her certification in medical billing and coding. Throughout the years, she worked various jobs before beginning her career in 2005 with the Department of Veterans Affairs (Wilmington VA Medical Center) utilizing her medical billing and coding skills. In 2008, Trisha and family relocated to North Carolina to be in a southern environment. This change allowed her to transfer her career to the W.G. Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury, NC where she remained a devoted employee for 13 years as a claims assistant. Due to her love of shopping for bargains, she maintained part time employment with Dollar Tree for 8 years. Trisha was a faithful member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She enjoyed a multitude of things, however nothing compared to her love of being a mother and grandmother. She relished the time she was able to spend with her boys. Besides putting her feet up and relaxing in her bed, she loved to visit the beach. Patricia leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 25 years, James Kennard; children, James, Jaymier and Jayquan Kennard; stepdaughter Kesha Snead (Greg); grandson Pierre Kennard and step grandsons, Greyson and Gavin Snead. She also leaves to cherish her memory, 2 sisters, Sonya Flowers and Jacquelyn Morrow; 1 brother, Lawrence Cuff; 1 uncle, Kenneth Eubanks (Dorothy); 3 aunts, Annette Wright, Burnette Chandler (Calvin), Margaret Dodd (Donald); mother in law, Annie Kennard; 1 sister in law, Vernita (Eric) Dorsey, and 1 brother in law, Michael Kennard; special cousin Desiree Dodd; close friend Tessie Matthews; adopted mother, Sara Walker and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her loving parents, Patterson and Jean Baynard preceded her in death.
