Ann Marie Stevens

Big Lake Township - Ann Marie (Carter) Stevens passed away early Friday morning October 8, 2021 after a brief battle with cardiac issues. Ann was born in Waterville Maine July 29, 1961 & grew up & went to school in Winslow Maine. Ann was a free spirit that settled down to raise her family & later her son’s family during and after his two battles with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Ann enjoyed spending time with her family whether it was just watching a movie, working on the lawn and garden, fishing, hunting or taking a spur of the moment road trip in car or on motorcycle, many of which ended up at the ocean. Ann was an avid sport fan when it came to watching her children & then her grandchildren play, hardly missing a game cheering loudly and providing countless rides to practices & games giving them & her many memories. Ann also enjoyed caring for the elderly & was employed as a home health personal care aide for many years before a car accident in 1998 ended her career. Ann was a member of Orion Chapter No. 45 in Calais Maine which allowed her to continue to help people in the local community, especially the elderly. Ann was also a lady member of the Widow’s Sons motorcycle riding association which she enjoyed with her husband. Ann truly had a heart of gold & touched the lives of many people with her generosity & willingness to help others that we in need. Ann was pre-deceased by her parents Donald & Jacquelin (Giguaire) Carter, and son Jerald Stevens. Ann is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, daughter Jasmine Stevens & her fiancé Nicholas Buxton of Waterville Maine, Sister Deborah Crane of Tucson AZ, brother Dominic Carter & wife Michelle of Winslow ME, brother Robert Carter & wife Kim of Thorndike ME, brother Henry Carter & wife Sharon of Albion ME, brother Joel Carter & wife Doris of Winslow ME, sister Pauline Trask & husband Randy of Oakland Me, sister Rose Pelletier & partner David Lawrence of Augusta ME, brother Anthony & wife Janice of Skowhegan ME, granddaughter Saria Stevens & partner Jennifer Davenport of Fredricton NB, grandson Dylan Thompson of Big Lake Twp ME, Grandson Devon Stewart of Waterville ME, granddaughter Alyssa Stevens of Big Lake Twp ME, granddaughter Zoie Stewart of Waterville ME, great grandchildren Briana & Bryson Chisholm of St. Stephen NB. A Celebration of Ann’s Life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Sunrise Christian Fellowship, Big Lake Rd., in Big Lake Township. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
