Obituary

Cam is survived by his wife, Dianne, of 41 years.  Cam and Dianne shared a very close relationship, were best friends, husband and wife, and Cam will always be Dianne’s “Sweetie”.  Cam is also survived by his mother Doris, his father Gordon and his brother Doug as well as numerous brothers- and sisters-in law.  He worked for RBC for 35 years before his retirement on January 1, 2016.

Cam was a founding member of Carnmoney Golf Club until his death.  Cam was an avid golfer golfing anywhere from 120 to 229 rounds of golf each season and achieved eight hole-in-ones and numerous tournament wins including Club Champion – 4 times, Senior Club Champion – 2 times and Scratch Match Champion.  His greatest golf feat was meeting Jack Nicklaus at the St. Andrews Golf Old Course in Scotland and getting a picture with Jack as well as Jack’s autograph.  Cam also loved fishing and playing hockey.

Cam and Dianne were fortunate to take some exciting trips, including Australia, New Zealand, Scotland, Ireland, Italy, London, Paris and several trips to Maui.  He greatly enjoyed the last few winters spent in Palm Springs.

Cam had numerous friends that he held close to his heart.  There is a blessing in that Cam died while doing what he loved to do.  Cam will be greatly missed by Dianne (and Teddy) and close friends and family.  We love you Cam.  Until we meet again.

A viewing will be held Thursday, October 14 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Evan J. Strong Funeral Services and Cam will be cremated.  A Celebration of Life for Cam will be held at a later announced date.
