<p>Donald C. Jahn, 87, lifelong resident of Taylor Ridge, passed away on Friday, October 8th at Trinity Unity Point Hospital, Rock Island.</p> <p>Visitation will be from 4 &ndash; 7 pm on Tuesday at the Wheelen-Pressley Funeral Home and Crematory in Reynolds.&nbsp; Funeral service will be on Wednesday at 10 am also at Wheelen-Pressley in Reynolds. Those in attendance are asked to wear a face mask or covering. Burial will be in Reynolds Cemetery with Military Honors by Reynolds American Legion Post 1166.</p> <p>Donald was born on March 22, 1934 in Taylor Ridge to Walter and Gladys McDonald Jahn.&nbsp; He was a 1951 graduate of Reynolds High School. &nbsp;He served two years in the Army stationed in Germany.&nbsp; He married Janice Whan on November 30, 1958 in Zion Lutheran Church, Taylor Ridge.</p> <p>Don was a lifelong farmer; the 3rd generation farmer on the Jahn Farm; owned by the family since 1909.&nbsp; He was a member of the Rock Island County Farm Bureau, and was on the board of directors for Mer-Roc/Growmark.&nbsp; He coached little league baseball and was instrumental in building the Taylor Ridge ball diamond during the 1970&rsquo;s.&nbsp; He enjoyed hunting and sports, especially Big Ten and NFL football.</p> <p>He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janice, daughter Carol (Larry Arbetman) Jahn, Warrenville, IL, Steve (Ann) Jahn, Taylor Ridge, Scott (Kathy) Jahn, Reynolds, grandchildren Cody, Ryan (Ashley), and Tyler Jahn and Andrea (Jordan Shreffler), sister, Elizabeth Zwanziger, Cedar Rapids, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.&nbsp;</p> <p>He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, and sister, Mildred Boney.</p> <p>Memorials may be made to the Reynolds Fire Department or the Rockridge FFA</p>
